3. Closer — The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
The numbers: 54% slap across 700 votes — the most-voted track in the Hall.
The sound of one specific summer, and whether that's a compliment depends entirely on how that summer treated you. Seven hundred votes and the room's still split — that's a song welded so tightly to a moment that you can't judge it without judging the moment.
4. Cheap Thrills — Sia
The numbers: 56% slap across 640 votes.
The lowest-ranked resident here, and the one most likely to escape. Sia's voice is a genuine divider — thrilling to some, grating to others — and right now the grating camp is just large enough to keep Cheap Thrills in the Hall. A few hundred more votes and it may well climb out.
5. Despacito — Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee
The numbers: 58% slap across 900 votes — the biggest turnout on the chart.
The clearest case of the Hall's real theme: this is a global phenomenon, and phenomena breed backlash in proportion to their reach. Despacito wasn't rejected for being bad — it was rejected for being everywhere, by 900 people who mostly couldn't hear the song past the saturation anymore.
